Rediscovering Santa Barbara

I wanted to spend some quality time with a friend before her little boy has her undivided attention, and so I planned a weekend trip to go out and see her, so that I could have her undivided attention for a weekend. She was a great host, and the cutest little pregnant woman. She was sweet to take me around her neck of the woods even  though  she was being extruded of energy from her pregnancy and also because she was in the process of moving.  She and I went to dental school together, so we talked of past memories and all our similar interest, which we have a lot of, so there was lots to talk about including our future plans.  Before our destination to Ventura; where she lives, we made a stop at the Palihouse Holloway for some lunch with some of our mutual dental school friends.  As we immersed in conversation I realized that a lot has changed since our dental school days. Nevertheless, it was fun to see and catch up with the girls.
The last day of my visit, we went to a local sandwich shop, Panino and the best cupcakes place,Enjoy cupcakes! Enjoy cupcake was located inside Saaraloos tasting room.  The interior of the building had a lot of eye candy. I had a  flight of cupcakes with a wine tasting.  I'll be honest the wine did not wow me, but cupcakes and wine, GENUISE!  I appreciated that Enjoy did not have red velvet on a silver platter; I feel like red velvet is overdone these days. They had other delicious flavors like Tart Ginger Lime Chardonnay and Chocolate Blackberry Syrah. And we finished the day  by going to Global Gardens for an olive oil tasting.  By this time we were overstuffed, so I didn't enjoy this experience as much as I  would of liked to.  I must say after this trip, I've rediscovered Los Olivos and Santa Barbara all over again. I always knew it was amazing area, but this time someone gave me a new pair of glasses, because it was more beautiful than i remembered. and my experience convinced me to want a future home there someday. I would even go as far to say that it is the best place in Southern California, even compared to Pacific Palisades, Malibu, and Laguna Beach.  The next time I see her she will have a pea in her pod, can't wait to meet him!
