MUSIC, MUSIC, MUSIC!

Music is a big part of my life. My father nurtured that part of my life ever since I was young. Wherever I go or whatever I do, I am constantly aware and listening to music. Whether I'm at home reading a book, out shopping, at a coffee shop, or in my office what I'm listening to is of equal importance, as to what I decide to eat that day.  Music nurtures and feeds my soul.  I know to some of you this may sound silly, but it really does this for me.  I need music the way I need food! That is why someday I want to attend  SXSW, at least once or more in my life.  And since this years has come and gone in the last week. I am planning to be at SXSW 2012 which has already been posted as March 9-18.  And I've always wanted to visit Austin(this will be for another blog post), so what is stopping me I don't know.  And since my brother in law is moving to San Antonio this May , I now have a sense of urgency to go visit him and make a stop in Austin, it's only a few hours away.  SXSW music celebrated their 25th anniversary this year 2011. They have a reputation for most anticipated convergence of all things music.  SXSW showcases hundred upon hundreds musical acts around the globe on over eighty stages in downtown Austin.  I didn't get a chance to go through all the performances, but here is a group I've discovered and like

So while we  are on the subject of music, I've discovered two new groups that tickle my fancy.  The first group is  Angus and Julia Stone and  I'm loving them right now!  If you get a chance check out their website, it's very well put together.
 The second group is  Bibio

What are some groups on my ipod right now other than Angus and Julia Stone and Bibio you ask........ The new Strokes album(Angles) which came out a few days ago (March 18,2011),Blind Pilot(which I'm dying to see in concert!!!), Arcade Fire,The Avett brothers, The Head and the Heart, and the French group Phoenix.  Have a wonderful weekend full of great music!

Moving to SF

I'm ecstatic that I finally get to say that I'm moving to San Francisco this fall! I've wanted to go back home to California since I first step foot into this forest of cacti.  I am craving for the greenery, the trees, the grass, the hills, the wineries, the beach, and being closer to my family. What can I say I'll forever be a California girl! I was born and raised in the bay area, went to college in the Napa Valley, and then moved to Southern California for dental school and lived there for 7 years.  I am  almost hitting the 3 year mark in Arizona and I'm itching to move back home.   Arizona is not a bad place to live, it's just not for me. The pace of life is here is too slow, and the energy of Arizona does not match my idea of energy. I'm not ready to settle down and have kids(even though my age tells me otherwise), I have too many dreams to fulfill before I start a family and want to settle down.  Not that building your dreams comes to a halt once you have kids, but it would definitely take me on a detour.  Most of my friends either have kids or are having them.   I've never been the the type who finished college, wanted to get married right away, then have kids, the dog,  the white picket fence, driving around a soccer van(but definitely the dog)!
Anyways,  I am looking forward to the energy of the city and all it has to offers. Here are some of the things I'm looking forward to:

1. Picking an apartment in Pacific Heights, Presidio, Cow Hollow/Marina and DECORATING it! This charming place was on craiglist in Pac Heights. Look at the details and the french doors, it's so charming. I would definitely paint the walls a different color. Maybe different colors for each room gray, rich sapphire, print on wall paper.
 2. Running outside where the scenery is beautiful.

3. Walking to a local coffee shop in the morning to have a latte while reading the Chronicle.
Blue Bottle Coffee Company

4.  Shopping at local farmer's market for  fresh produce.

5. Meeting friends for  coffee, lunch, or dinner.

 7.  Weekend getaways to Napa/Sonoma with friends

Chateau Montelena put California in the forefront of world-class winemaking.

8. Boutique shopping
